Grammar Fix: English Classroom Activity

Correct a sentence and explain the grammar change with a fresh example. Includes a worked example and printable pair activity.

Suggested: A1–A2; adapt the difficulty to the learner • 15 minutes

Your learning goal

Correct a sentence and explain the grammar change with a fresh example.

Understand the idea

Read the whole sentence before choosing a correction. Look for its time reference, subject and intended meaning; changing one word can affect another.

Do not stop at recognising the corrected form. State the rule in simple language and apply it to a new subject or situation. The game is practice, not a certified proficiency test.

Worked example

  1. “She go to school every day.” → “She goes to school every day.”
  2. In this present-simple statement, the third-person singular subject takes “goes”. With “they”, use “go”.

Try it step by step

  1. Open Grammar Fix and choose a suitable difficulty. Start with Easy if the skill is new.
  2. Play a short round. Discuss one choice before moving on; explain the meaning or rule rather than its screen position.
  3. Give your partner a new sentence and explain one grammar choice.
