How Catchie handles information used by learners, teachers, visitors, and classroom features.
Last updated: 29 September 20261. Who we are
Catchie.link is an educational service operated by Catchie Systems Limited. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
2. Information Catchie may process
The information used depends on the feature. Public learning pages can be used without creating a classroom account. Features may process a nickname or display name, selected avatar, language or theme preferences, lesson or game progress, scores and leaderboard information, classroom account identifiers, course information, assessment results, session information, IP address, browser/device information, and error or diagnostic information.
Not every feature collects or stores every type of information listed above.
3. Information stored in your browser
Some Catchie features use cookies, local storage, or session storage to remember preferences, progress, selected difficulty levels, login/session state, or other feature settings. Some learning progress may remain only on the device being used. Clearing browser site data can remove locally stored preferences or progress.
4. Accounts and classroom features
Classroom and restricted features may store information needed to provide the service, including account identifiers, display names, class or course information, progress, activity results, scores, account status, and login/session information. Private areas are intended for authorized students, teachers, or administrators.
5. How information is used
- provide lessons, games, educational tools, and classroom services;
- save or display learning progress and scores;
- operate accounts, sessions, teacher-managed activities, and leaderboards;
- remember preferences;
- diagnose errors and improve reliability or performance;
- protect the service from abuse, attacks, or unauthorized access;
- respond to support, privacy, safety, or security reports.
6. Analytics
Catchie may use analytics to understand general website usage and performance. Catchie currently uses Google Analytics on public parts of the service. Analytics can include page views, browser/device information, referral information, general location derived from network information, and interaction data.
7. Security and infrastructure services
Catchie currently uses Cloudflare for website delivery, caching, performance, and protection against malicious or abusive traffic. Infrastructure providers can process technical connection information, including IP addresses, as part of delivering their services.
8. Cookies and local storage
Cookies or browser storage may be used for login sessions, account security, preferences, analytics, learning progress, and website functionality. Your browser normally allows you to view, restrict, or delete stored website data. Restricting storage can cause some Catchie features to stop working correctly.
9. Children and students
Catchie provides educational material that may be used by school-age learners. The service is designed to avoid requesting unnecessary sensitive personal information through public learning pages. Students should not place sensitive personal information in public nicknames or open text fields.
10. Public game information
Public game leaderboards may display a chosen nickname, score, ranking, difficulty, or similar game information. Users should avoid using sensitive personal information as a public nickname.
11. Data retention
Retention varies by feature and operational purpose. Information may be retained while needed to provide an account or learning feature, maintain progress, investigate technical or security problems, or meet applicable operational or legal requirements. Browser-stored data remains under the control of the browser or device.
12. Third-party links
Catchie may link to external websites. Catchie does not control the privacy practices, content, or availability of third-party websites.
13. Security
Catchie uses measures such as HTTPS, access controls, security-related response headers, traffic protection, and restricted private areas. No internet service can guarantee complete security. Security concerns can be reported through the Security page.
14. Your choices and contact
Depending on the feature, you may be able to change a nickname or preferences, clear browser-stored progress, or stop using an account. Questions about information associated with you can be sent to [email protected] or through the Contact page.
15. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Catchie features, technology, or operating practices change. The current update date appears at the top of the page.
