Here is the current arrangement, and there are three distinctions I need everyone to keep clear. The workshop is still in the east studio at half past two. What has moved is equipment collection, from the west desk to the small preparation room beside the east entrance. Collection opens at ten to two and closes at twenty past two. Please do not send participants to the preparation room for the session itself.

We have thirty-six confirmed participants, not forty-two. Six further requests are on the waiting list. They are requests, not additional confirmed places. I realise an earlier message gave the total number of requests without separating those categories, so please correct any attendance list made from that message. The waiting-list coordinator will contact people individually if anything changes.

Delivery is a separate matter. The loading door may be used between half past one and a quarter to two, provided the coordinator is there. That is not the collection window and it is not the participant entrance. A driver arriving outside that window should contact the coordinator rather than assume the door will be staffed. The access check is due at noon. Unless we issue a replacement notice, the participant route remains the east entrance.

Now, before you brief your group, read back any detail that determines an action. I do not need a word-for-word repetition of this announcement. I do need to know that collection, delivery and the workshop have not been collapsed into a single event. If you caught a number but missed its category, ask about the category as well as the number. If noise interrupted the location, label your note as provisional until you have confirmation.

For the learning activity, wait two minutes before giving your summary. Keep uncertain details visibly separate from confirmed ones, and explain which question would resolve each important uncertainty. After the read-back, compare your first note with the confirmed arrangement. An accurate correction is evidence of an effective listening strategy, not something to hide in order to make your first attempt look perfect. Finally, evaluate the difficulty without judging the speaker's intelligence, competence or social background from an accent.

[1] The workshop begins at 14:30 in the east studio. Equipment collection, originally planned for the west desk, moves to the small preparation room beside the east entrance. Collection opens at 13:50 and closes at 14:20. The session itself has not moved and its start time has not changed. Participants should not be directed to the preparation room for the workshop.

[2] Thirty-six participants are confirmed. The east studio can accommodate forty participants for this activity under the venue's agreed arrangement. Six additional requests are on a waiting list; they are not confirmed places. An earlier message mentioned forty-two requests in total. That total must not be read as the number expected in the studio. The waiting-list coordinator will contact people individually if a place becomes available.

[3] The loading door is not the participant entrance. Delivery staff may use it between 13:30 and 13:45 if the coordinator is present. A speaker who hears only thirteen forty-five should establish whether the message concerns a delivery window or equipment collection before relaying it. These times refer to different actions.

[4] A final access check is due at 12:00. Until a replacement notice is explicitly issued, the east entrance remains the participant route. A message saying that the check is pending does not itself authorise use of another entrance. Keep the source, time and confirmation status of any later change in the relay log. Do not resolve conflicting messages by choosing the one that sounds more fluent or more confident.

[1] I heard that something was moving from the west side to a room near the east entrance. I am fairly confident that this concerned equipment collection, because the speaker then mentioned tools and the desk. I did not hear the end of the sentence clearly. I should confirm the room before sending participants anywhere.

[2] The speaker also said thirty-six and then referred to six more people. I initially wrote forty-two attendees. On reflection, I may have combined confirmed places with a waiting list. This detail changes the room plan, so it deserves a targeted question. The speaker's unfamiliar pronunciation slowed me down, but the more important problem was that I stopped listening after recognising a number and missed the category that followed it.

[3] I heard thirteen fifty for collection, but a trolley passed at the same moment. The sound could have masked a distinction relevant to the time. My note should preserve that uncertainty rather than convert it into a precise instruction. I can ask, Is collection opening at thirteen fifty, and does that differ from the delivery window? That question checks both the number and its referent.

[4] I do not need the entire message repeated at a slower speed if only those details are uncertain. I do need enough context to prevent a correct number being attached to the wrong event. After confirmation, I will replace the provisional note in the operational relay and retain the first note only in my learning log.

[1] Score gist, detail and inference separately. Gist concerns the overall operational situation. Detail concerns the specified location, time and participant categories. Inference concerns what a participant should do when a conditional or incomplete message is heard. A confident but unsupported instruction should not receive credit merely because it is plausible.

[2] The supplied neural recordings are controlled practice materials. Their voice identity and any deliberate speed or signal processing must be recorded in the media manifest. A noisier copy is a condition variant, not a new speaker or a new English variety. A differently worded script is also not, by itself, evidence of another variety.

[3] For the approved three-variety assessment, a teacher must verify three suitable, permitted listening inputs and record the variety description, source permission, transcript and relevant listening demands. Do not attach a national label to a synthetic voice merely because an accent setting was selected. Until suitable inputs and target-learner judgements are recorded, the variety component remains unassessed. The practice dossier can still be used for confidence-coded notes, targeted clarification and accurate relaying.

[4] Moderate degradation should reduce some local clarity without making the task a hearing endurance test. Provide a clean transcript after the independent attempt and offer an accessibility route where required. Assess the learner's language evidence separately from a technical failure, an inaccessible playback condition or unverified assumptions about familiarity with a speaker.
